Certified Surgical Technologist CST

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
The OR Technician assists other members of the health care team in the delivery of patient care during the intraoperative period. The major focus for the position is on preparation and handling of instrumentation and surgical equipment and assisting the surgeon within the limits of their scope of practice during the surgical procedure. Applies knowledge of growth and development in patient and family interactions. Administers care and use of equipment applicable to the age and needs of the patient population served. (neonate through geriatric).

High school diploma or equivalent X Required

Graduate of accredited school of surgical technology is preferred; trained surgical tech; i.e through a hospital program is required.
Certification desirable.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
