Job Purpose Oversee, provide leadership for, and coordinate activities for production within the plant. Job Duties and Responsibilities * Supervise all employees in the department and manage the flow of production * Assure good housekeeping throughout the facility. * Able to coach and give disciplinary notices to employees when necessary. * Schedule and post overtime requirements when necessary. * Liaison to Team Leaders (Coach, Lead, and Direct). * Focus on improving product and process capability. * Forward thinking and self-motivated in relation to production floor/ systems improvements. * Actively participate in all aspects of quality control as it related to daily production. * Involved in problem solving and corrective actions related to production issues. * Verify work standards/ set up sheets, quality checkpoint sheets and all other production related documents are present at the point of use and up to date. Must also ensure employees follow them. * Monitor scrap on daily basis and implement corrective actions to achieve yearly scrap goals * Oversee production meetings with employees in your department. * Always update and assess employee-training matrix. * Monitor shop floor safety and assess training for employees in your department. * Supports, enforces and complies with all company policies and procedures. * In charge of completing performance evaluations on employees. * Perform other duties as assigned or required. * Administer disciplinary actions as required. * Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements. Qualifications and Education Requirements * Bachelors' Degree preferred; however prior manufacturing experience of 5 or more years may be considered in lieu of a degree. * 5+ years manufacturing experience. * Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. * Good motivational and leadership skills. * Strong understanding/familiarity of production and scheduling. * Demonstrated ability to multi-task, dealing with diverse workforce, multiple priorities, and stressful situations to meet or beat established deadlines. * Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with co-workers and peers. * Ability and willingness to work overtime, including periodically working Saturdays. * Demonstrated ability to adhere to all ethical business practices. * Ability to focus on problems or issues and to work toward timely resolutions * SAP knowledge a plus. * Union experience preferred.
