Job Duties and Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities: * Constructs, adapts, and modifies molds for plastic injection molding, die cast tooling, metal stamping, and other molding operations. * Creates initial molds based on specifications from design team, blueprints, or schematics. * Uses various measuring and gauging tools to perform necessary inspections before, during, and after molding operations. * Sets up equipment based on mold requirements, materials, and tolerances. * Executes production runs; conducts quality control testing before mold enters production cycle. * Maintains knowledge of materials and products. * Assists machinists and millwrights with injection molding process and equipment. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: * Thorough understanding of machinery and mold creation. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Thorough understanding of applicable safety rules. Education and Experience: * High School diploma or GED * Must have Technical School Training and or 5-10 years job experience in a non-production environment Physical Requirements: * Prolonged periods standing. * Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time. * Superior manual dexterity, muscular control, and delicate touch necessary to complete precision work without damaging valuable molds. * Visual acuity to read blueprints and perform visual inspections.
