Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) is seeking a Relationship Officer. In this role, you will work with high risk/classified accounts who are still considered viable operations and able to return to acceptable status within a designated timeframe. The assigned portfolio will be in Wyoming and the panhandle of Nebraska. You will serve as a key influencer in helping customers return to a viable financial position working directly and indirectly with local teams through restructuring, borrower counseling, creative credit packages and resolution of distressed accounts if needed. Minimize reputation risk by providing positive exit solutions for customers who are not willing and/or able to adjust. Provide counseling to Credit Analysts and retail Financial Officers on loan structure, terms and conditions, pricing, and documentation for loans with significant credit weakness. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary contact and specialized resource focused on high risk/classified volume not assigned to the Credit and Resolutions Team (CART) exhibiting a strong level of patience and creativity to arrive at viable solutions. This includes establishing and maintaining sound credit and loan administration, loan pricing, and establishing appropriate loan terms and conditions for the purpose of managing the loan risks for a variety of loans to include large and complex accounts.
  • Manage assigned portfolio across multiple offices in accordance with companies and funding banks' policies and procedures resulting in the greatest net return/best business decision. Work towards designated account retention and returning accounts to viable account status levels.
  • Primary responsibility is prevention of loans entering special classification and reduction of non-earning assets through restructuring, borrower counseling and/or collection and resolution of distressed.
  • Serve as primary compliance officer on assigned loans and ensure the company is within compliance of settlement laws and procedures. Contribute to the achievement of satisfactory Association credit administration and credit quality goals in assigned portfolio through building consensus of involved parties.


Travel Time

  • Percentage of time required to travel during the day - 60%
  • Percentage of time required to travel overnight - 40% - 60%



Education Requirements

  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Preferred in Business, Finance and/or Economics


Years of Experience

  • 6+ years of experience, Lending/credit analysis experience, to include experience in the full economic cycle of agriculture, with the Farm Credit System or a related agricultural credit organization
