Specifically, the research will use numerical simulation to evaluate the performance of different building systems subjected to natural hazards such as earthquakes, evaluating the effects of modeling approaches and resilience of buildings employing different structural systems. Additional Job Description Physical Requirements: Remote work is allowed as all work can be done on the computer. Regular virtual meetings are required. Accountabilities: Employee is expected to attend regular weekly meetings with supervisor. Employee may be asked to remotely train undergraduate research students on topics such as use of structural engineering design and analysis software, structural behavior under gravity or lateral loading, interpretation of experimental data, and the like.
