Job Description/Responsibilities

The Sales Performance Capability Lead covers NM, TX, OK and will focus on driving the training and development for sales. This role will continuously monitor the team and identify opportunities to improve performance and develop training tools to support these needs. This position is an important link in helping to not only develop individuals, but also to drive innovation and training standards that will optimize the Sazerac sales force overall.

Additional responsibilities for the role include:

    Develop fact-based selling materials to effectively train and develop the field sales team in the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to gain alignment on expectations and workload balance for on and off premise execution
  • Be an active participant in the KPI planning process for field sales team and help lead the delivery of all KPIs in assigned territory
  • Perform against established KPIs and manage the systematic reporting and tracking on progress of activities through VIP, COGNOS, as well as other internal company systems
  • Identify and develop core key sales management processes (e.g. distributor/broker management and reviews, merchandising relevance and standards, customer presentations and negotiations, market development days, etc.)
  • Work to constantly improve the Sazerac team and individual selling capabilities
  • Ensure the orientation process is positive and a memorable experience for new hires. Develop 30,60,90 day processes and ensure all new hires get proper introductions to Sazerac: its people, processes, systems, customers and culture.
  • Oversee and develop training tools for brand state priorities.
  • Support the development plan for the sales team in assigned territory
  • Ensure brand standards, KPIs and sales drivers are simple, commercially applicable and measurable and clearly understood and communicated.
  • Train and develop sales team on proper planning and organizing techniques
  • Provide coaching and direct feedback to individuals that will result in behavior changes, and in turn, enable the individual to achieve immediate and long-term success
  • Assist management in the execution of sales related training needs, such as new product launches or sales force expansions


Qualifications/Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of direct sales experience
  • Industry experience preferred: alcohol/spirits, CPG, wholesaler or supplier
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours
  • Valid Driver's license & willingness to travel up to 30%
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Record of successful leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing people
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Ability to motivate through compelling training

  • The salary range refers to base salary only and does not include car allowance, annual bonus, fuel or cell phone reimbursement
