ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES





The Maintenance Planner is directly responsible to the Manager of Maintenance Planning. Duties include but are not limited to the following:





  • Assist the Manager of Maintenance Planning in developing scheduled maintenance forecasts and activities to ensure the timely compliance of all planned maintenance requirements based on the following aspects:

    • Analysis of airline schedules and maintenance operations to determine appropriate manpower, competence, and facility requirements to support the complexity of the required maintenance.
    • Analysis of operational usage to minimize costs and ensure efficiency.
    • Coordinate routine maintenance events with MOCC, Systems Control, Line Stations, Materials, and vendors.
    • Prioritize, plan, prepare, peer review, and issue maintenance work packages for accomplishment of routine scheduled maintenance checks (A, Phase, and C), and also for unscheduled maintenance packages such as engine changes and Engineering Orders.
    • Manage previously issued Production Work Orders by rebuilding and reissuing work packages when flight schedules change.
    • Audit Aircraft Times/Cycles.
    • Maintain aircraft maintenance check status, i.e. last check date and next due related to A, Phase, and C checks.
    • Monitor and plan AD compliance dates to ensure timely compliance.



  • Monitors aircraft schedules and coordinates with Systems Control and Maintenance Control to ensure adequate ground-time to effect repairs.
  • Monitor time remaining reports of all aircraft in order to plan maintenance tasks in conjunction with aircraft down time.
  • Maintain accurate listings of parts and tooling items required for task accomplishments.
  • Access aircraft maintenance manuals and IPCs.
  • Ensure parts, tooling, supplies, equipment, and vendors are available for scheduled events.
  • Represent Maintenance Planning in daily Operational Meetings to provide recommendations and direction to Systems Control and Operations for planned maintenance opportunities.
  • Rotating weekend on-call schedule.
  • Performs other duties as specified by Manager of Maintenance Planning.




QUALIFICATIONS





  • Position may involve some travel.
  • Maintain reliable attendance during regularly scheduled business hours
  • Be available to work extended hours including weekends, nights, and holidays to maintain fleet operations.
  • Must be able to pass a 10-year Background/Criminal check and pre-employment drug screen.
  • Aviation maintenance experience desired. Helpful aviation maintenance experience will have provided a familiarity of routine aircraft maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration practices, as well as an understanding of maintenance scheduling, parts replenishment, and aircraft systems.
  • Awareness of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) such as, Airworthiness Directives, Advisory Circulars, Aircraft Safety and Inspection Programs.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with aptitude to learn new software and systems. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft SharePoint, Adobe or Nuance, and TRAX experience desired.




EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE





  • High School diploma or GED (required)
  • A&P license preferred but not required
