Staffing Scheduling Coordinator - Part Time

We are currently seeking a Staffing and Scheduling Coordinator for Riveredge Hospital. Simply apply to the posting and discuss your interests with the hiring manager if you are selected to come in for an interview.

The Staffing and Scheduling Coordinator performs and coordinates staffing and scheduling operations for the inpatient population in accordance with policy, mission, and vision. The Staffing and Scheduling Coordinator may additionally provide clerical support to Nursing services.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains department schedules in a complete, current manner that is consistent with external agency/regulatory requirements.
  • Systematically analyzes hospital staffing and ensure pertinent information is gathered, considered, forwarded and/or acted upon promptly.
  • Communicates effectively with others to solicit and provide information relating to staffing concerns and program staffing needs.
  • Develops and maintains 28-day schedules (two pay periods) and master schedules based on specified staffing pattern.
  • Consults regularly with CNO, the DON and the Nurse/Program Manager(s) to coordinate unit staffing.
  • Directly contact nursing staff members as needed to fill vacancies assuring proper staffing ratios and additional staffing needs per acuity and the direction of nursing leadership.
  • Ensures registry agreements are adhered to for MHAs and RNs.
  • Works directly with other clinical leaders as needed to provide occasional 1:1 staffing and extra-ordinary staffing needs outside of the inpatient units.
  • Maintains a file system for master schedules, assignments and acuity data that is organized and adheres to hospital and JCAHO standards for the hospital, the Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies. Ensures master schedules are reconciled on a daily basis.
  • Process multiple reports for leadership: Disciplinary Actions, No Lunch/Short Lunch, CPR/CPI.
  • Processes weekly payroll in accurate and timely fashion.
  • Receives time sheets from employees, audits for accuracy and inputs into the payroll system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Job Experience/Certification:

  • HS diploma/GED required; Associates Degree preferred
  • Previous scheduling experience a plus
  • 2 years' experience in office/clerical support in a hospital setting preferred
  • Experience with psychiatric patient population preferred

Special Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ShiftHound preferred
  • Knowledge of payroll processing procedures
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills required.
  • Is open and respectful of cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of clients and is willing and competent to work with a diverse client population.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and a part of a high functioning team.
  • Experience and ability to use computers for data entry, communication and report writing
  • Knowledge of all code procedures with the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Ability to push, pull and lift to forty pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
