DESCRIPTION

Designs, develops, debugs and utilizes bioinformatics programs, with applications to single-cell omics, protein interactions, epigenomics and genome organization. Generates well documented code and clear project reports. Applies computational procedures to resolve a variety of analysis and research issues. Works on assignments of moderate scope where analysis of data requires a review of a variety of factors. Assists in additional analyses as needed to achieve research objectives.

The 4D Nucleome Network Organizational Hub enters its second phase with the goal aimed at better understanding how DNA is arranged within the cell's nucleus in four dimensions. Under the general direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the incumbent will support data management and visualization software for genomics data. Assist with implementation of quantitative data, analysis models, and analysis tools for molecular imaging data. Integrate genomics data with imaging data for joint inference. Support web/graphical user interface and database programming for the 4DN web portal as a central resource gateway to access all the 4DN-Network generated tools, policies, guidelines, protocols, reagents, cell lines, and as a central hub for the outreach activities.

Collaborates with colleagues, managers, and department researchers to understand complex problems and works directly with end-users to ensure that solutions meet requirements. Provides solutions that implement appropriate software security functionality.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in biological science, computational / programming, or related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

  • Working knowledge of bioinformatics methods and data structures.

  • Working knowledge of applications programming and web development.

  • Working knowledge of databases.

  • Working project management skills.

  • Working knowledge of modern biology and applicable field of research.

  • Interpersonal skills in order to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.

  • Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Self-motivated, able to learn quickly, meet deadlines and demonstrate problem solving skills.

  • Working knowledge of application and data security concepts.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $74,300 - $134,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $35.58 - $64.42

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
