PURPOSE OF POSITION: This is not your standard call center help desk position. The Deer Valley IT Support Specialist role is for someone who enjoys plenty of sunshine, snowstorms, skiing, and computer screens. We support everything from ski gates to credit card gateways to point to points to Wi-Fi to SQL clustered nodes to end users to digital signage and much more. The position will report to the Senior IT Operations Manager and will serve as the first line of triage for helpdesk support requests. When helpdesk tickets are trickling in, a pivot is expected to project oriented work. The ideal candidate will want to learn as much as possible about everything we operate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Triage helpdesk tickets quickly and accurately with detailed notes.
  • Support, repair, configure, and upgrade Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, and Linux devices.
  • Reach out across departments, teams, vendors as appropriate to determine and resolve issues; pride in ownership throughout the steps of resolution.
  • Move and re-configure hardware with a high degree of attention to neatness and cable management.
  • Solving problems and fixing things. Including RFID ski gates, business applications, webcams, PtPs, and everything else under the IT umbrella.
  • Low voltage wiring including network cable termination and fiber splicing.
  • Able to accommodate on-call periods. Weekend and holiday work required.
  • Continuous learning and ability to adapt to and integrate rapidly changing technologies.
  • Demonstrate compassion and patience for end users experiencing computer problems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Exemplary customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong desire to work in a mountain setting in a cold weather environment, outdoor working conditions may be a common. Possess a basic understanding of ski resort operations. Ability to ski from site to site.
  • Ability to work alone, set priorities, self-start, engage additional help as necessary.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing Windows PC and Mac computers in an enterprise Active Directory domain environment, including system deployment/imaging.
  • Some knowledge of network infrastructure concepts including enterprise Wi-Fi, Cisco switching, fiber varieties, and ethernet cabling.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office365 Suite including how to use and support MS Teams, Sharepoint, email, and calendar.
  • Experience managing file shares, file services, and related technologies.
  • Experience with data center racking, cabling, power.
  • Proficient in communicating technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • 2-year degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • A+ Certification preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to harsh and varying outside Utah mountain weather conditions. May also be exposed to sitting in a chair and staring at a computer screen.


PAY RATE:
  • Pay: $50,000 - $54,000 per year
