Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $44,200 - Midpoint: $55,300 (Salaried E6)

Department/Organization: 209317 - Early College

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; some evenings & weekends

Job Summary: The Academic Advisor I provides guidance to University students on academic progress, courses, University resources, etc. Identifies courses to be completed in upcoming semesters. Explains University and College policies. May teach compass course as needed.

Additional Department Summary: Directs the academic advising of all UA Early College (UAEC) students with the responsibility of developing each student's annual plan of study, overseeing approval of academic plans, and ensuring that students enroll in appropriate academic courses. Works with UA Early College staff to coordinate communication between appropriate UAEC faculty and staff, UAEC parents, and high school personnel. Maintains appropriate database systems and records. Builds collaborative relationships with various K-12 partners, campus partners, and community partners. Assists in marketing, recruiting, and coordination of delivery of UA Early College programs and services.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Requires flexibility to work day, night, weekends, and occasional travel.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to plan, develop, and administer academic advising with exceptional interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work with groups of high school-age students and educators. Ability to work well in a team setting. Ability to communicate effectively to various groups of people. Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education, instructional technology, communications, or business. Experience with Talisma Client management system. Experience with ACCESS database management. Experience with UA systems (i.e. Banner, SARS).
