The Bedford lab is recuiting a summer intern. The purpose of this internship is to provide training to students who would like to pursue a career in research. The intern will gain hands-on experience in basic statistical analysis and entry level experience running analytical simulations using R programming.



Responsibilities

The intern will be trained in a range of skills and techniques, depending on the project assigned. Under the guidance of a mentor, the intern will learn Data analysis fundamentals and some of the following skill sets (dependent on lab):

    Data analysis and quality control
  • Simulations
  • Programming in R
  • Public Health statistical interpretation
  • Epidemiological statistical interpretation


Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in statistics, programming, public health or a major in tangent with these
  • Completed 1 year of undergraduate level science courses
  • Good communication skills and an interest in learning
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good numeracy, literacy and organizational skills

The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.00 to $25.45 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
