This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite on Campus and remote. The Department of Surgery is one of the largest departments in the School of Medicine and is comprised of 102 full-time faculty members, 220 voluntary faculty members, 20 physicians employed on MSP agreements, 25 doctors employed by the VA or other facilities, 77 accredited and 13 non-accredited trainees and 100 career staff. Activities are organized in 13 sub-specialty divisions. Annual expenditures across the Department total over $66.5M with a global research portfolio of over $19M. UC San Diego Department of Surgery is in search of an advanced biostatistician for a staff position. Applies extensive knowledge as a research professional with an in-depth understanding of statistical and/or other analysis techniques designed to support research projects of broad scope and complexity. Incumbent with a broad range of research interests are welcome and encouraged to apply; particular attention will be paid to applicants whose areas of interest include outcome research, quality improvement research, and health disparities research. The incumbent will provide advance statistical support for all phases of health sciences research in the Department of Surgery. Lead will be expected to manage and support the entire Dept of Surgery Research team, including massive data acquisition, management and maintenance. Must possess ample experience in supporting a large Dept of Surgery, with approximately 85 clinical faculty and its different divisions. In addition, the incumbent is expected to manage multiple data and projects simultaneously, including complex statistical analysis for large data sets. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $101,200 - $192,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $48.47 - $92.05 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). |
