Claims Implementation Manager - Remote

Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Claims Implementation Manager!

About the role

In this role, you will lead the implementation process for new employer group accounts for Life, Disability and Absence Management. You will oversee assigned accounts, from point of sale through completed plan load set up.

You will create and implement effective communication and change-management strategies for projects, and drive adherence to timelines. You will also own the preparation of plan documents and materials.

What you will do



  • Develop and/or manage implementation details and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure the timely, accurate and complete Implementation of Group Benefits Employers, Life, Disability and Absence Management programs for employers and retirees
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with the Account Management, Sales, and Operations teams
  • Maintain solid understanding of our Benefits product portfolio, operational capabilities, and processes
  • Research installation issues & develop customer and claim-specific resolutions. May audit plan set up in the claim system
  • Actively identify, manage, and resolve issues appropriately to conclusion and raising concerns as appropriate
  • Direct customer contact via phone, email and/or in person, providing the best service possible throughout the implementation.
  • Provide an accurate and detailed handoff for transition of the implemented account to Account Management and other internal claim and plan loading teams
  • Work directly with third party Broker/Consultant to ensure a smooth implementation
  • Coordinate implementation activities with the employers' broker/consultant instilling confidence in the implementation delivery
  • Maintain high quality implementation logs and report to keep key constituents informed
  • May attend broker meetings with Regional Sales Executive
  • Primary liaison between IT and customer for eligibility feeds
  • Prepare and deliver technical specifications to document eligibility feed requirements, working with various benefit and payroll platforms
  • Prepare documentation and lead discussions with customers, brokers and benefit administrators about the rules and regulations around FMLA, ADAAA and paid family leave administration
  • Travel to a specific Symetra office location as needed
  • May assist in developing or creation of workflow documentation and training plans for new hires and act as a subject-matter-expert for new hires or others within department or division

Compensation

Salary Range: $68,500 - $114,100 plus eligibility for annual bonus program

Your experience and skills



  • College degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 4-5 years of group benefit implementation experience
  • Experience with Group Life, Disability and Absence Management products
  • Understanding of statutory disability plans
  • Life and Health Insurance License preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • High attention to detail and organization
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Great at multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to foster a collaborative environment, build trust, and influence others
  • Some travel required
