Job Description Summary
Graduate Assistant will help support the Writing Across Curriculum ( WAC) program and Writing Center.
Responsibilities
Responsible to modeling the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration, and active support of the University's Mission in Catholic and Lasallian higher education.

The WAC GA will help support WAC operations (and Writing Center/ WAC collaborations) including the following:
-Administrative Support: Monitor WAC email; coordinate shared programming with Writing Center GAs.
- WAC Professional Development Support: Act as a liaison between the WAC program and participating faculty; provide logistical support for outside faculty visiting Lewis for WAC workshops (e.g. arranging flights, accommodations, transportation, meals, Zoom rooms); reserve rooms for WAC faculty workshops.
-PR & Design: Create and circulate PR for events and services; design and write copy for the WAC website; maintain WAC social media.
-Writing Fellows support: Schedule professional development sessions for participating faculty; collaborate with Writing Center to schedule tutors for class sessions; collaborate with Writing Center to schedule one-on-one meetings with tutors for students in participating courses; develop training materials for Writing Fellows; develop training sessions for Writing Fellows; facilitate in-class workshops with Writing Fellows; provide one-on-one tutoring for students enrolled in participating courses; create workshop plans for in-class workshops with the WAC coordinator and participating faculty; review/revise Online Writing Lab materials when appropriate for Writing Fellows workshops.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required and must be enrolled and maintain academic excellence in one of Lewis University's graduate programs. Demonstrated writing excellence via writing samples and a recommendation letter from a faculty member; excellent social skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference to have writing center tutoring experience.
Essential Duties
Work hours
Year round position; minimum of 20 hours per week; schedule will be set in consultation with supervisor in order to accommodate the GA's course schedule.
