Job Summary

Supervise and lead the campus financial aid office and is the chief liaison between financial aid and other campus constituencies. Provide advice and assistance to students and families regarding applying for financial assistance, including federal aid and institutional scholarships and managing educational awards.


Essential Duties

Supervise and lead the campus financial aid office.

Provide advice and assistance to students and families regarding applying for financial assistance, including federal aid, institutional scholarships and student loans.

Function as part of the campus student services team and is the primary liaison between financial aid and the Deans of Student Services, Provosts, etc.

Provide guidance and information to students regarding maintaining and/or regaining eligibility for assistance.

Use professional judgment in determining whether a student has unusual circumstances that would affect financial aid eligibility.

Train new and existing campus financial aid and other staff on financial aid issues and regulations.

Support TCC's recruitment and retention mission through the presentation of financial aid information, both on campus and throughout the area.

Troubleshoot and solve difficult issues too complex for other staff, including researching and resolving student complaints.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Higher Education, Educational Leadership, Counseling and Student Personnel or related field.

One year of experience working in financial aid.

Experience working with Federal Title IV regulations, policies and procedures related to financial aid.

Personal computer skills.

Ability to perform duties on one's own initiative with minimal supervision.

Ability to interact effectively with all students & college service areas.


Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Higher Education, Educational Leadership, Counseling and Student
Personnel or related field.

Supervisory experience.
