Job Summary:

As the Director of Investor Relations, you will play a key role in shaping and executing our company's investor relations strategy. NRG's Investor Relations team boasts a proven track record of excellence, playing an integral role both internally and externally. Your responsibilities will include developing impactful marketing/earnings materials and scripts, while maintaining focus on the research, presentation, and communications needs of the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and other senior executives. This unique position entails daily interactions with executive management and offers the successful candidate the opportunity to build strong relationships across the organization and support the development and communication of NRG's strategy with the investment community.

This position will be located in NRG's Princeton, NJ office.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with finance, legal, marketing, and other departments to ensure alignment of messaging and strategy across the organization.
  • Clearly communicate company financial results, performance, and outlook in a simple way both internally and externally; prepare and execute quarterly earnings including investor presentations, press releases, scripts, and Q&A materials.
  • Develop presentations for investors and external constituents, crafting scripts for CEO, CFO, and other Executives presenting at conferences.
  • Plan and coordinate investor meetings; including roadshows, office visits, and Investor Days.
  • Lead and execute ad-hoc projects.
  • Monitor, review and circulate relevant NRG and peer related news and sell-side analyst notes.
  • Digest industry and competitive news and collaborate with key leaders to promptly address both internal and external stakeholder questions.
  • Track and provide feedback on changes to the shareholder base, investor sentiment and peer performance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum 10 years of relevant experience in some or all of the following areas; investor relations, financial analysis, marketing, communications, and/or securities law

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
  • Strong Power Point creation skills (from idea sanitization to final presentation)
  • Curiosity about financial markets
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills and proven project management capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision / self-starter

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid workplace: Required in-office three days weekly (minimum) for optimal teamwork and communication
  • Open office environment
  • Occasional travel, up to 10% of working time
  • Occasional extended working hours based on business needs
  • Majority of work performed on a personal computer in a seated position
