Job Description

TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, Lees and Soto-Feliciano Labs, to investigate epigenetic regulators and gene regulation in cancer cells. The work will involve some management of research lab operations, but the majority of time will be spent conducting research and participating in ongoing lab projects. Responsibilities will include laboratory organization; participating in the design and execution of research projects; and analyzing, recording, and organizing data generated from experiments. Experiments will involve the investigation of cancer cell lines, including genetic manipulation, gene expression analyses, protein biochemistry, flow cytometry, drug-response analyses, and mouse transplant assays. Will receive direct supervision from the principal investigators.


Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, cancer biology, genetics or related field; at least two years of relevant lab experience (which may include experience gained as an undergraduate); working knowledge of general laboratory practices and procedures; problem-solving, organizational, and teamwork skills; ability to work independently; and self-motivation. PREFERRED: experience with mammalian tissue culture, standard molecular biology techniques (e.g., cloning and PCR), drug response assays, protein isolation, and western blotting; and experience with genomic analyses and/or mouse transplant studies.
