About the College/Unit/Department
Part of the Division of Student Affairs, University Housing consists of nearly 2.8 million square feet of facilities and is home to more than 9,000 students. The department employs 220 full-time staff members, 21 graduate assistants and 565 undergraduate student workers. As a self-supporting auxiliary, University Housing operates a $59 million budget derived only from student housing fees and other non-state sources.
In support of its mission to provide comfortable, affordable and secure housing options where the academic success and personal growth of residents are encouraged and supported, University Housing engages staff members in competency-based training and students in curriculum-based engagement focused on community building, interpersonal skills, social awareness and responsibility, and well-being.

Duties/Responsibilities


Duties/Responsibilities
1. Support, communicate, enforce and abide by all university and department policies, procedures and regulations.
2. Support the community office staff by performing assigned administrative responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
3. Assist in the opening, closing and transition of residence halls. This may require early arrival andlate departures, as well as working during break periods.
4. Function as a resource for accurate information concerning Housing and university operations.
5. Follow appropriate protocols in addressing incidents and potential policy violations
6. Assist community office staff during a crisis or emergency, maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
7. Participate in all departmental and community training.
8. Participate in all meeting activities including, but not limited to: staff meetings, community staffmeetings and one-on-one meetings with supervisor.
9. Follow appropriate community desk policies and procedures including, but not limited to: keymanagement, equipment check-out and access control.
10. Sort, record, distribute and forward mail, packages and newspapers according to United States Postal Service regulations and community procedures.
11. Provide exemplary customer service to all residents, guests, visitors, faculty, and staff who interact with community desks and community office spaces.
12. Perform other duties consistent with the purpose of the position as assigned.
