Description

The Senior Recruiter will work at all levels of the organization to proactively and strategically align the need for talent with the goals and objectives of Atlantic Union Bank; then execute recruiting strategies to identify, attract, recruit and hire top talent.

Position Accountabilities




  • Deliver an outstanding customer experience throughout the recruitment process, ensuring an exceptional experience and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with HRIS and IT teams to integrate and optimize TA systems, ensuring the utilization of cutting-edge technologies for recruitment processes.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement withing the TA team, encouraging feedback and implementing changes to enhance operational efficiency and ensure a fair and consistent recruitment and selection deliver model
  • Partner with Recruitment Team and Hiring Manager's to support full life cycle recruiting delighting both our internal and external customers and ensuring a differentiated experience
  • Collaborate with Hiring Managers to determine job requirements and selection criteria for open positions. Work with assigned clients to understand their specific business objectives and strategically align the recruiting process to address current and future needs; create a relationship of trust and influence
  • Source candidates for a variety of open exempt and nonexempt positions. Utilizing both cold calling, electronic and social media tools as well as leveraging our ATS database for active and passive candidate identification
  • Manage the presentation, selection, offer, negotiation, and closing components involved in full lifecycle recruiting
  • Design, build, implement and measure innovative and creative recruitment strategies
  • Build pipeline pools of candidates through a variety of staffing approaches and networking to ensure a strong pipeline of qualified candidates are available when a need is identified. Help create a process to stay connected with candidates not hired
  • Conduct interviews with candidates, capturing feedback for meaningful discussions with Hiring Managers
  • Organize and lead the interviewing process and post-interview debrief/feedback sessions with interview teams and candidates. Ensure that the Hiring Manager has all the information and data needed to make a decision on a hire. Retain all appropriate documentation to support decision for candidate hire
  • Administers, organizes, and conducts training on interviewing and other recruiting tools
  • Participate in the development of ongoing creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies
  • Consults with and manages the relationship with outside agencies and staffing firms to fill positions as the need arises and negotiates contracts on fees and conditions
  • Develops professional relationships with local organizations and colleges; evaluates the need for, organizes and represents AUB at college and specialty career fairs
  • Stay informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in the marketplace.
  • Help build out the Recruiting scorecard and metrics to create meaningful information that can be shared with Leadership.
  • Participate in various external recruiting forums and groups to stay up to date on best practices and benchmark against them
  • Accountable to ensure pre-employment requirements are adhered to; collaborate on pre-employment decisions and industry trends
  • Responsible for reporting requests by either partnership with Business Line Intelligence or creating reports from internal tools
  • Partner with leadership to mentor junior Talent Acquisition teammates
  • Assist with Talent Acquisition budget
  • Recruitment / HR project work as assigned e.g. policy revisions, recruitment strategy, review and recommend additional tools / process for an enhanced customer experience. Assist with the rebuilding of the recruiting infrastructure and develop in-house processes to ensure compliance within the recruiting function
  • Responsible for operational excellence within the full life cycle recruiting process. Support recruitment performance metrics and other staffing commitments to the Bank
  • Partner with Compensation and HRIS providing information on market trends
  • Take the lead on various HR initiatives either directly or indirectly related to staffing. Manage cross-functional projects to support the roll out of different staffing objectives including employment branding, college relations and recruiting materials; take the technical lead for recruiting component of Human Capital System
  • Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations governing bank operations, including compliance with Atlantic Union Bankshares' BSA/AML Policy and Procedures.

Position Qualifications

Education & Experience



  • A BS / BA degree with a focus in business preferred or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 6 years of related professional recruiting experience required (strongly prefer combined time at both an agency and in a corporation). Experience in the Banking, Financial and/or Retail arena is a plus
  • Previous experience in applicant tracking systems required, UKG experience a strong plus
  • A minimum of 3 years' prior experience in behavioral based interviewing tools required
  • An established network of candidates and companies within various social media tools required
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the recruitment of both passive and active candidate identification required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Mid-Atlantic area job market preferred
  • Previous project management experience required. Experience in ATS designs strongly preferred



Knowledge & Skills




  • Proven success in building relationships with others inside and outside of HR as well as effectively responding and interacting with Teammates at all levels in the corporation
  • Demonstrated ability to make passive recruiting cold calls in the identification of candidates and the building of pipelines
  • Strong experience in various social media and the ability to incorporate it into successful sourcing strategies
  • An excellent sense of competitive markets and strategies to incorporate the data into recruitment planning
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office, ATS tools and experience in Outlook preferred. Certification in various online recruitment tools such as AIRS or willingness to quickly obtain certifications required
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and presentation skills
  • Accomplished communication skills including both oral and written
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail. Ability to operate under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and decision making, maintains high ethical standards
  • Flexible and innovative in a fast paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Continually pushing status quo and driving for continuous improvement. Desire to become and maintain subject matter expertise in recruiting
  • Previous experience managing external vendors
  • Working knowledge of EEO and OFCCP requirements
