Summary:

This role is an opportunity to join the leadership team creating the future at Hershey's newest, state-of-the-art fulfillment center in Annville, PA. The facility will play a critical role in the company's strategic growth objectives delivering step-change commercial value, leveraging advanced technology, and expanding agility for customer growth.

You will work directly with key leaders from Hershey and our 3PL partners to create the culture and foundational operating procedures that will ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in our new hybrid operating model. Come prepared to hire and develop a robust and highly skilled technical team.

Under the direction of the maintenance manager, the maintenance supervisor will lead and supervise all functions and activities of the maintenance department. The position will partner with key site, corporate, and 3PL stakeholders to implement and drive best practices in safety, quality, maintenance processes, reliability, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis in a three shift, seven day working environment

Responsibilities:

Supervising the Maintenance Team



  • Coaches, directs, and trains maintenance technicians to work efficiently across the facility while supporting the manufacturing mission. Establish a safety-first culture throughout the plant. Responsible for determining appropriate delegation of daily/weekly assignments. Establish goals and Objectives to actively support all TPM initiatives including the direct personal support of Autonomous Maintenance with all maintenance personnel.
  • Track key performance indicators on an ongoing basis. Identify and communicate issues to plant management. Implement appropriate corrective actions to deliver departmental results.
  • Assist maintenance techs during complex breakdowns to drive positive results. Manage overtime and vacations accordingly meet plant needs



Maintain Qualified Maintenance Staff



  • Establishes and coordinates all training that will ensure all maintenance technicians are aligned with company, plant, and department objectives. Participate in the interview/hiring process of new maintenance technicians. Ensure All technicians are up to date on monthly LMS safety/quality training.



Maintenance Budget



  • Communicate all unplanned spending to help meet our budgetary goals for the maintenance department.



Maintenance Procedures and Systems Oversight:



  • Monitor and control PM completion utilizing SAP. Ensure all maintenance technicians time and materials are accounted for in SAP. Coach and mentor technicians on the use of SAP. Accountable for the daily management systems supporting continuous improvement efforts, including defect handling and breakdown elimination (root cause analysis), while supporting equipment centerline and autonomous maintenance activities.



Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:




  • Proven manufacturing engineering and maintenance expertise
  • Technical writing skills
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-lingual environment
  • Ability to coach, manage and unify others to achieve results, following all safety, quality, and productivity policies and procedures
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, prioritization, and data analysis skills
  • Ability to effectively drive change in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage and support both short-term and long-term maintenance strategies
  • Ability to function independently and make decisions to maintain plant operations
  • Knowledge of reliability methods and practices to maintain asset performance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Time management skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities and demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Focused on maintaining excellent quality and understand/adhere to product requirements
  • Ability to follow directions and perform other duties as directed and assigned
  • Proper use of required company issued PPE
  • Train and assist new team members
  • Ability to understand and perform basic mathematics



Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:




  • B.S. degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred. 5+ years of equivalent technical experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years Trades/Technical/Maintenance related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Food Processing, Fulfillment & Supply Chain
