Summary:

The Audit Manager will be responsible for managing various facets of Sensiba's employee benefit plan ("EBP") audit practice and will work closely with EBP Audit Partner. In addition to directly supervising team members in the execution of high-quality employee benefit plan audits, the Audit Manager will be instrumental in enhancing the day-to-day operations of Sensiba's EBP niche.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the execution of employee benefit plan audit engagements in accordance with relevant regulatory and professional auditing and assurance standards, with multiple engagements occurring simultaneously
  • Oversee engagement management, including initial kickoff discussions with clients, determining scheduling, managing budgets, and communicating change orders
  • Anticipate issues and plan for their resolution in order to ensure appropriate and timely execution of engagements across the EBP niche
  • Teach and mentor staff members, in both technical skills and in their career development, including leading annual EBP team training
  • Build and manage client relationships, provide excellent client service to existing clients
  • Contribute to the conception and execution of EBP niche initiatives, including areas of process improvement, automation, and development of templates and resources to improve team success
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including assisting with proposals, building a network of referral sources, and authoring whitepapers
  • Research changes in accounting or audit guidance and develop strategies and methodologies for implementation for any such changes
  • Identify client needs and opportunities to better serve our clients
  • In person attendance at annual AICPA EBP Conference and annual internal Sensiba EBP team training (approx. total of 5 days of travel annually, typically in April/May)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Licensed CPA
  • 5+ years or more of relevant experience in EBP audits within a public accounting firm
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
  • Fluency in CCH Engagement
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Advanced analytical and reasoning skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong research capabilities
  • Strong project management, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize work for multiple clients and consistently meet deadlines

Compensation Range: $125,000 - $160,000
