Technical Writer III

The Technical Writer III will provide technical writing for medical device instruments and reagents for multiple groups (Clinical or Life Science Group). Work on any documents which include Instruction Manuals (IFUs), Instrument and Software Operation Manuals, Marketing letters or field actions letters. Responsibilities include writing, reviewing/editing, desktop publishing, routing labeling in the document control system (currently EtQ, future Veeva), and translation management. New translation requested to support sales in new registered countries. Interface daily with desktop publisher, other technical writer and Regulatory Affairs Specialists. Work collaboratively with Marketing, R&D, QA, Product Support, Planning, and Manufacturing teams. Work with internal and external teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the products and how they are used by our customers. Use this knowledge to write easy-to-understand user instructions. Write for translation by creating concise and consistent text for use across multiple product platforms.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees across multiple departments

  • Technical aptitude for learning new instruments, software, reagent kits, and systems


What You Bring:



  • Education:BS in Biology with emphasis in Technical writing. Five years experience working in Technical support or R & D.
  • Work Experience: Experience in writing Operation manuals, IFUs, Marketing notifications, field action letters, change documentation
  • Manage and organize translations for Operation manuals and IFUs with translation company
  • Proficient use of MS Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Adobe InDesign.
  • Customer-centric mindset to understand customer requirements, anticipate their challenges, and develop instructions/communications accordingly

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $91,500 to $120,000 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
