Field Service Engineer

Whether a routine maintenance call or troubleshooting a problem and finding solutions, our Field Service Engineers play a leading role in supporting the onsite technical needs of Bio-Rad customers. In this highly autonomous role, you will spend the majority of your time at customer sites, with travel up to 5 days a week in your assigned territory as part of a national service team. No day or week will look the same, and your work will have a direct impact on Bio-Rad's success!

The person taking the Field Service Engineer role will spend the majority of their time in four key areas:



  • Traveling between hospitals/labs based on assignment of service requests.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving customer and product issues.
  • Building positive relationships with Bio-Rad customers.
  • Documenting service results in order to maintain accurate quality records.


The environment and culture for this role is fast-paced and you'll be constantly "on the go". It requires the ability to solve complex problems while maintaining strong relationships with our customers.

How You'll Make An Impact:



  • Installation, service and upgrading instruments at the customer premises or Bio-Rad manufacturing sites. These interactions play a key role in developing strategic relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Customer Service and Sales Technical Support in relationship to capital equipment operation and technology deployment in lab type settings.
  • Ability to manage and progress calls through challenging technical environments that can be resolved using on-site and remote assistance. The ability too communicate verbally write technical escalation emails along with technical documentation writing ability.


What You Bring:



  • Education: Military Experience AS Electronics / BS - Mechanical or Electrical Engineering / BS - Biomedical Engineering.
  • Work Experience: 3+ years of experience.
  • Technical troubleshooting experience or training with a strength in electronics and mechanics. Display a high level of technical competence and an ability to learn and work with training aids to assist an engineer in troubleshooting.
  • Written and verbal communication.
  • Strong ability to understand situational environments and planning using a picture mentality.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $72,800 to $100,100 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
