A reasonable estimate for an initial appointment is $66,259. See Unit 18 Lecturer table for the salary range for this position. For current appointees, normal compensation will be based on the annual salary of the Unit 18 faculty NSF in effect as of June 30 of the calendar year in which summer session begins. Duration through Summer Session 2024 Application Window Open date: March 11, 2024 Most recent review date: Monday, Mar 25, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Wednesday, Jul 31, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The School of Engineering seeks a lecturer(s) to teach courses in Computer Science and Engineering Department to teach the following subjects in Summer 2024: CSE 019 Introduction to Computing See catalog for course descriptions: https://catalog.ucmerced.edu/content.php?catoid=22&navoid=2224 In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor is responsible for creating a syllabus, holding regular posted office hours (minimum 2 hours/week), and evaluating student work and exams, and calculating and posting grades. The instructor may also be required to hold discussion sections or supervise a graduate student teaching assistant, reader, or remedial tutor. This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and appropriate collective bargaining agreement.
