Location Remote Project/Unit Description The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) Information Systems Department (ISD) is seeking a Solutions Architect to join our Enterprise Applications Division. This team member will solve complex problems by working with key stakeholders across our organization to research, architect and implement appropriate DevSecOps principles, processes, and technology. This role will serve as a main point-of-contact for adoption to an enterprise-wide Artifactory instance, in addition to providing secondary administration of existing Linux-based applications (both containerized and non-containerized). The ISD team supports GTRI's 2900 employees across the United States in an enterprise IT role, providing centralized IT infrastructure, networking, services and applications to all of GTRI. Specifically, the Enterprise Applications Divisions focuses on implementing and managing a variety of both on-prem and cloud applications (including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS), and applications provided by a cross-functional team that are vital to business operations for GTRI. This position will report to the Manager of the Enterprise Applications Division as well as interface cross-functionally with other members of ISD, lab-level IT teams, researchers and external sponsors or customers. Job Purpose The Solution Architect defines, conceptualizes, describes, and manages an engineering solution specific to the enterprise system. Responsible for understanding the architecture, design, and development of software built for sponsors and running on secure cloud computing networks, specifically focusing on fully automated deployments. Additional responsibilities include understanding how integration with third-party software vendors will impact the system and providing guidance on impact to the enterprise. This position will interact with government sponsors and government technical experts to translate business requirements into technical requirements and provide guidance to technical teams for execution of requirements.
