Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Consultant - Southern US - Remote

Reporting to the Associate Director of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (EOHS), this position is responsible for performing, developing, managing, and assisting with EHS environmental health and safety program(s) with a specific emphasis on Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), International Air Transport Association (IATA) and other federal, state, and local EHS regulations. This position contributes to the Company's efforts to comply with applicable rules, regulations, and standards to protect our workforce and the environments in which we work. Primary Responsibilities:



  • Auditing non-administration operations including clinical facilities to evaluate compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring of EOHS programs, plans and policies to ensure compliance with applicable, federal, state, and local EHS laws, rules and regulations, ordinances, and standards
  • Ensuring all managed facilities comply with environmental regulations and specific programs such as EPCRA, Clean Air and Water Acts, SPCC plans, USDOT, RCRA, Hazardous Materials, Hazardous Waste, Regulated Medical Waste, and associated OSHA Standards
  • Working with certain business entities and vendor selection process to ensure that handling, shipment, and disposition of Company regulated equipment practices and wastes are in full compliance with applicable regulations
  • Providing employee safety and health consultation and incident investigations

Required Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of EOHS knowledge and experience with a specific focus on EOHS regulatory requirements and standards
  • Experience working with a variety of people with varying backgrounds, education and job functions including federal, state, and local regulatory agency staff
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Proven advanced computer skills, analytic/data analysis skills
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50%



Preferred Qualifications:



  • USDOT Hazardous Materials certification
  • Experience in healthcare settings
  • Experience with USDOT regulations
  • Experience with SmartSheets
  • Experience with Origami or other Safety Management Systems
  • Flexibility to respond in a fast-paced environment

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $70,200 to $137,800 annually.
