Financial Accounting Analyst

Analytik Jena US, a company of the Endress+Hauser Group, is seeking a methodical and detail-oriented individual to join a well-developed team as a Financial Accounting Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for various accounting functions, financial reporting, year-end audits, and provide insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making. The position reports to the division Controller and will be based out of our Tewksbury, MA office.

Role + Responsibilities



  • Facilitate and support monthly closing procedures, encompassing tasks such as revenue recognition, valuation of demo inventories, prepaid expenses, accruals, depreciation, and reconciliation of Intercompany AR/AP alongside other Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Generate monthly financial statements, conduct detailed expenses and variance analyses against budget, scrutinize balance sheet accounts for trends, and furnish recommendations for enhancement.
  • Compile weekly bookings sales and backlog reports, delivering insightful analysis for the management team's decision-making processes.
  • Produce ad hoc reports and presentations tailored to management and inter-departmental requirements.
  • Create quarterly sales commission reports, ensuring precise calculation of payouts aligned with compensation plans.
  • Aid in daily accounting operations covering banking, accounts payable, employee expense processing, accounts receivable, and other general accounting functions, maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data while ensuring compliance.
  • Assist in compiling year-end reporting packages, audit schedules, and providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Collaborate on the preparation of schedules for Federal and State Income tax returns and sales tax filings across various states.


Qualification + Profile



  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent experience and/or education.
  • 2+ years of proven success and knowledge in Accountant or Financial Analyst position, demonstration of strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS), and financial analysis techniques.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize, and work both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Mental and emotional capacity to exercise good judgment, reasoning and common sense, possess critical thinking and problem skills and have strong attention to details and circumstances; assertive, confident, superb listening skills.
  • Proficient in Outlook, PPT, Word, internet, and ERP systems; advanced Excel is preferred, and experience with INFOR is preferred.
  • Willing and able to work extended hours during peak accounting periods, including month end and year end closing, and budget periods.
