Job Description

Apply to be a part of the Allstate Apprenticeship Program, a 12-24 month, fully remote, paid opportunity designed to give you hands-on experience in a career-related field while you are enrolled at a community or technical college.

In this role, you will provides paralegal support for Litigation Services attorneys. Prepares pleadings and motions. Under general attorney supervision, facilitates the discovery process, including: obtaining records, reviewing documents, interviewing clients, preparing trial materials, and summarizing and analyzing research. Identifies, summarizes, and monitors relevant issues.

Apprentices will spend between 20-30 hours a week engaged in hands-on learning to help build a strong career foundation. We provide flexible scheduling to accommodate your life and school commitments.

Allstate partners with a Chicago-based non-profit, One Million Degrees (OMD). OMD hosts monthly virtual mandatory professional development sessions and provides regular check-ins to ensure you're on track to achieve your academic and career goals. Additionally, all participants are assigned an Allstate mentor to help you network with peers and leaders across the organization.

Apprentices will start August 2024 with a week-long orientation

Job Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in a degree-seeking pathway at a community or technical college

  • Must be enrolled in courses related to intended career field

  • Must be in good academic standing at attending institution

  • Must not currently be participating in another apprenticeship program (virtual or in person)

  • Has completed no more than 30 semester credit hours by August 2024

Skills:
  • Confident, professional written and oral communication skills
  • Basic critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of legal holds and discovery processes
  • Basic budget management skills and project management skills
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Basic researching, proofreading, and formatting skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Compensation Data

Compensation offered for this role is between $20 - $28/hour and is based on the role the apprentice is hired into.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
