Job Summary:

Avnet's team of FAEs and TSEs are helping startups and established companies adopt the latest technologies required to differentiate their products, get to market quick, and disrupt industries.

In partnership with Broadcom, we are enabling customers to develop products that lay the foundation for communications networks and datacenter architectures by leveraging cutting edge high speed switches, PHYs, and more. You will develop and grow our Broadcom business by engaging with emerging startups and established key customers. You will work to understand how our customer's end products can be differentiated by leveraging the unique value of Broadcom solutions. You will then collaborate with our Broadcom applications engineers and other colleagues to develop and execute a strategy that showcases why a Broadcom solution is superior. When a customer chooses a Broadcom solution, your mission is to ensure they get to market as quickly as possible by taking full advantage of Broadcom silicon and software.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Acquire and maintain deep expertise in Broadcom products, device features, reference designs, and system solutions
  • Understand the customer's system architecture, technical requirements, design goals, and decision criteria
  • Develop win strategies that leverage unique Broadcom technology to differentiate the customers' end product
  • Determine the competitive landscape and how to position Broadcom solutions effectively
  • Present solutions that align customer requirements with Broadcom's industry leading devices, software, and partner ecosystem
  • Prove value of Broadcom solutions by performing on site demonstrations
  • Guide customer through device selection, applicable reference designs, design methodology, verification, and lab debug
  • Deliver technical workshops, lunch-n-learns, and customer training
  • Work with Broadcom marketing and factory experts to improve their product offering
  • Collaborate with Avnet technical and sales teams to maximize Avnet's impact with the customer
  • Develop, maintain, and grow Avnet's relationship as technology partner with both customers and Broadcom

Work Experience:

  • Minimum experience required is typically 8+ years with bachelor's or equivalent. This is typically the most senior field support position in the company and is reserved for the most experienced technical support professionals.

Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • Solid understanding of network switches and PHYs, Ethernet standards, and communications systems architecture
  • Understanding of the hardware and software development process
  • Experience in customer facing engineering role
  • Strong communication skills (listening, verbal, written) and experience delivering technical presentations with proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Expertise in one or more vertical applications space (networking, datacenter, etc.)
  • Participant in technical sales process
  • Strong leadership, organization, time management, and business strategic planning skills
  • Bonus if you are already familiar with
  • Broadcom Trident or Tomahawk families
  • High Speed Serdes
  • Analog copper interfaces such as 10/100/1000BASE-T1, 10/100/1000, 10GBASE-T, 10GBASE-KR
  • Broadcom iProc
  • Backplane Ethernet
  • Broadcom Robo Switches
  • PCI Switch families
