The Assistant Director of Maintenance Services oversees the daily operation of maintenance services for Facilities Services (FS). Reporting to the Superintendent of Maintenance Services, this position oversees the following skilled trade unit: Access Control, Building Mechanical/HVAC, Electrical, Paint/Signage, Plumbing, Carpentry/ Sheet Metal & Regulated Materials. Provides direct supervision to five (5) Skilled Trades Supervisors, and a workforce consisting of about 60 skilled trades staff. Provides leadership to staff and ensures adherence to departmental processes, protocols, and procedures. Tracks and follows up on work order reports, staff workload, and more complex repair needs. Works with FS Leadership to implement, facilitate, and monitor safety and technical training programs for Maintenance Services; ensures safety procedures and protocols are established and maintained, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and University of CA regulations. In conjunction with the Superintendent of Maintenance Services and unit supervisory colleagues, demonstrates subject matter expertise for maintenance, skilled crafts, trades, and other related work; represents the department on campus and UC-wide work groups. Promotes and maintains a strong customer service-focused environment and cooperative teamwork philosophy in the unit. Responsible for operational budgets and good stewardship of University resources. Maintains knowledge of building and safety codes, hazardous material handling and disposal, and labor contracts.

The full salary range for the Assistant Director of Maintenance Services is $87,300 - $163,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $135,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
