I. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, maintains an assigned area of the hospital in a sanitary and orderly condition in accordance with departmental and regulatory agency policies, procedures and standards.

Education	Completion of elementary school.
Experience
Skills	* Ability to work well under time constraints and to work effectively as a team member. * Ability to courteously greet and exchange information with patients, visitors and staff while performing housekeeping tasks.
Licensures, Certifications
Physical Requirements	* Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. * Ability to do considerable walking and standing. * Ability to lift 50 lbs. maximum, with frequent lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. * Occasional stooping, stretching, kneeling and crouching.
Working Conditions	* Somewhat undesirable; may be in frequent contact with strong cleaning and disinfecting solutions, some exposure to dust and infectious materials. * Occasional exposure to risk of injury for up to twenty percent of work time.
