IT Project Manager

What You'll Do:

This position is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing IT related projects according to assigned deadlines and within budget. The IT Project Manager will acquire the appropriate resources and coordinate the efforts of internal/external team members as well as project stakeholders in order to deliver projects according to plan. This individual will act as the primary advocate of project management methodologies and best practices. The IT Project Manager will have a passion for leading projects that align with LGE's strategic initiatives.

Essential Functions:

Strategy & Planning

  • Lead teams in development of business requirements & assessment of SaaS vendor software against requirements
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Apply knowledge of the Credit Union's products and services to project scope Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders during project life cycle
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using WRIKE or other appropriate project management tools
  • Track project milestones and deliverables to ensure project timeliness
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas
  • Disseminate project success criteria as defined by stakeholders to involved parties throughout project life cycle
  • Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful/unsuccessful project elements
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
  • Where required, negotiate with other business units for the commitment of required personnel/resources from within LGE
  • Identify, assess, and communicate need for additional staff and/or consultants during project life cycle

Operational Management

  • Direct and manage project development during project life cycle
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents
  • Identify and analyze business systems within and across business units for functionality consolidation and configuration optimization
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to applicable project team members
  • Identify, collaborate, and problem solve project related issues within the project team
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members/contractors by influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
  • Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project
  • Be familiar with and follow all policies, procedures and processes which have been established in order to meet compliance requirements of all applicable federal regulations. The regulations include but are not limited to the Privacy Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Reg. CC and Patriot Act.

Who you are:

  • Required: 5+ years of experience in a project management environment

  • Required: 4+ years of experience implementing SaaS software applications

  • Required: Project Management Professional (PMP) or in pursuit of certification

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business/information technology related field

  • Preferred: Project management experience within a financial institution

  • Knowledge of the Symitar Epysis core system a plus

  • Experience working with WRIKE or similar project management tool a plus

  • Ability to motivate and influence at all levels within the organization
