Clinical Lab (Temporary, Full-time, Variable Shift) - Our mission is to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. The Clinical Lab Trainee performs pre-analytic specimen processing, order entry, verification, specimen handling, and communication duties. In addition, the position triages phone calls, and relays messages to staff accurately and promptly. The position operates multiple electronic applications to schedule appointments, order tests, obtain test results, communicate, and record patient information. Performs other duties as needed. High School Diploma required. Recently completed (within 12 months) or currently enrolled in a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS), Bachelor of Science program, with degree obtained within 6 months of hire date. No experience required.Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license obtained within 6 months of hire date. Knowledge of medical lab standard operating procedures, types of software used, and equipment. Able to: read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate equipment. Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; accept direction. Communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Distinguish colors and smells as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.
