Student Services Specialist (Specially Funded) Job ID: 319401 Location: Rio Salado Community College Full/Part Time: Regular/Temporary: Regular Hiring Salary Range $18.48 - $23.12/hourly, DOE Grade 109 Work Schedule Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5:30pm; Friday and every other Saturday 8am-5pm. Weeks including a Saturday will include an additional weekday off. Job Summary Provides a high-level of customer service to students and community members by administering a variety of academic, career, and certification assessments at the Rio Salado College Northern Testing Center. This position follows strict policies and procedures for online test administration and provides technical support to students, customers, and team members. This position is responsible for ensuring front line testing services at the Rio Salado College Northern Testing Center are operating efficiently. Essential Functions 60% - Provides a high-level of direct customer service to students, candidates, staff, and faculty. Administers assessments following specific, established procedures and policies, all while working in a team environment. Serves as a certified proctor and exam knowledge expert. Maintains database information and confidential testing records 20% - Provides a high-level of technical support to students, candidates, part-time staff, and other team members through troubleshooting. Corresponds and collaborates with Faculty, outside departments, and external companies regarding testing issues 10% - Trains and implements policies and procedures to full-time and part-time Testing Technicians. Establishes and coordinates work schedules for the Rio Salado Northern Testing Center staff. Responsible for ensuring coverage during all hours of operation. Provides follow up training to staff when necessary 10% - Prepares and maintains correspondence, appointments and reports related to Testing. Maintains office systems and procedures; provides general clerical assistance, including answering phones, maintain testing center email and calendar, greeting/directing student/customer traffic. Ensures accurate payments are received and processed. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, and one year full-time of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A. Experience working in a customer service environment B. Experience providing technical support or technical troubleshooting C. Experience administering assessments using exam administration software/applications D. Experience collaborating with outside departments, faculty, and/or external corporations E. Bachelor's Degree Special Working Conditions The primary location for this position is the Rio Salado College Northern located at 1715 West Northern Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85021 but will be required to work at multiple locations for training and coverage purposes. The Rio Salado College Northern Testing Center is open Monday - Thursday 9:00am - 9:00pm and Fridays and Saturdays 8:00am-5:00pm. This position may require some evening hours and Saturdays.Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: . May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen.
