The Manager of Medicare Strategy & Analytics partners with Trade Relations and help lead Medicare Analytics functions in developing strategies that deliver lowest net cost solutions for our Medicare clients, while providing access to best-in-class drug therapies.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Perform Medicare client formulary and analytics to provide net cost information to help guide formulary decisions
  • Develop, provide, validate, and maintain client specific manufacturer discount source files to ensure operational success
  • Serve as a SME to provide ongoing support of manufacturer discounts to appropriate stakeholders
  • Interpret, research, and validate manufacturer discount contract terms and conditions / provide information and guidelines to the stakeholders per contractual requirements
  • Analyze formularies, drug utilization management programs, and benefit designs to identify business opportunities
  • Routinely collaborate with accounting, billing, and financial teams to reconcile manufacturer discounts
  • Identify, investigate, and rectify discrepancies between projected and billed discount rates
  • Develop and communicate client cost impact reports to appropriate stakeholders
  • Support pricing, underwriting, sales, and marketing with RFP requests
  • Ensure accuracy of manufacturer discounts database
  • Anticipate stakeholder needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
  • Gather and document business requirements
  • Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges
  • May lead projects
  • May oversee work activities of others

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • Formulary discount, reconciliation, client disbursement and payor experience
  • Proficient understanding in discount contracts, brand drugs, therapeutic classes, formularies, drug utilization management programs, and benefit designs
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint applications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex, and concurrent projects; ability to adapt to a high growth and rapidly changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively cross-functionally to deliver results & operational success



Preferred Qualifications:



  • MBA or other advanced clinical degree
  • Some VBA, SQL, SAS, Tableau experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
