Senior LIMS Developer

Primary responsibilities will be to design, develop and maintain the LabWare LIMS platform at the RTP site. This individual will provide expert technical support regarding development, deployment and troubleshooting of the platform for QC, Manufacturing and Analytical Development as needed. This position will require a high level of collaboration with the customer base with respect to understanding or interpreting end-user requirements and their translation into technical specifications for LIMs.

The senior LIMS developer will be responsible that the LIMS system operates in a state of compliance against the governing SOPs and ensure the training materials and validation documentations are up to date with current configuration. The senior LIMS developer will work cross functionally and within the team to prioritize the work requested of the LIMS team to meet the growing and dynamic needs of the site.

The incumbent must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and is flexible, dependable and has the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions and Duties:

Individuals in this role are expected to have or build proficiency in the following:

Experience with coding and configuration in Labware preferred
• Provides day to day system maintenance activities within the LabWare system and has the ability to work independently
• Executes, performs testing, reviews and implements change requests for changes to the LabWare system
• Authors and revises: procedures, configurations, training and validation documentation to ensure core functionality is maintained in a compliant manner for the LabWare system.
• Anticipates and responds to technical problems, coordinates investigations and develops appropriate solutions, assuring compliance is maintained and timelines are met
• Provides reporting solutions that address business needs
• Contributes to facility projects and designs, develops configuration solutions to meet business demands
• Facilitates team development within the LIMS group
• Coordinates with IT to facilitate database updates and/or maintenance
• Assures the overall LabWare configuration is fit for purpose, compliant, and able to support testing and manufacturing activities

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:

Required education and experience:

• BS/BA in science or computer science with a technical background within a LIM platform, with 7+ years of experience.
• Experience with coding and configuration in Labware preferred
• The ideal candidate will have experience with routine laboratory operations and be able to translate those processes into user requirements and efficient user experiences.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

• Demonstrated subject matter expert in Laboratory Information Management Systems
• Experience with coding and configuration in Labware preferred
• Experience designing and developing ELN, Empower, and NWA LIMS platforms
• Experience with Instrumentation integration/interface in a LIMS system
• Experience with LIMS Basic and the capability to provide custom configurations
• Experience providing technical solutions through automation or integration of complex data systems
• Must possess strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to be self-directed while managing multiple projects.
• Must have excellent collaboration skills with colleagues both within and outside of the department
• Must possess effective communicate skills that effectively facilitate project or workflow efficiency and/or distribute information
• Effective listening and coaching skills
• Strong attention to detail
