RFK Community Alliance has an exciting opportunity for a Program Director in our new Young Adult Supported Living program in Central Massachusetts. A $2,500 Sign-On Incentive is available!

Who We Seek

RFK Community Alliance seeks a nonprofit leader that has entrepreneurial spirit to help us develop a new program funded by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to expand our continuum of care. The Young Adult Supported Living (YASL) will be designed to support transition aged youth as they look to step out on their own. This role will focus on helping our youth develop in the following three domains of well-being; Connected, Capable, and Healthy. The program will support up to 12 youth living independently in their own apartment in the Worcester, Leominster and Fitchburg area. The Program Director will work with the Assistant Vice President of Youth Services to identify apartments, develop policies and procedures, as well as hire and supervise supporting staff members.

This position will require developing strong external relationships with service providers and funders as we look to establish this program within the community. Key Areas of Responsibility


  • Develop program policies and procedures in accordance with contract compliance and is in alignment with agency and divisional policies and goals.
  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding and training of new staff.
  • Provides weekly direct supervision of Case Manager, and Life Coach to ensure overall professional services are delivered.
  • Develop relationships with local realtors to identify and secure appropriate rental apartments for young adults.
  • Manages independent living property locations for compliance with lease requirements, and all health and safety standards, and work closely with landlords to ensure these.
  • Work closely with landlords, meet with participants 2-3 times weekly, monitor progress of participants in accordance with tools provided and adjust as needed for 12 months.
  • Ensure appropriate housing in partnership with participants; conduct housing inspections to ensure units meet health and safety standards.


Key Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience required, 1-5 years of experience in youth or housing services preferred
  • Lived experience of housing insecurity/teen parenting/foster care strongly preferred
  • Must have driver's license and dependable vehicle
  • Strong initiative and entrepreneurial spirit


Shift


  • Fulltime, flexible schedule that encompasses a mixture of some mornings, some evenings and some weekends to accommodate individual client needs
  • On call responsibility

$2,500 Sign-On Incentive

This position is eligible for the RFK Community Alliance Sign-On Incentive in the amount of $2,500 in your first year of employment. You will receive $500 after 3 months; $500 after 6 months; $1,500 after 12 months.
