DESCRIPTION

Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse on the Float Team, the LVN performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, patient education and venipuncture and IV access. Requires initiative, able to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment.

Due to our exciting Community Care clinic growth, position will float to North County as well as additional clinics throughout San Diego. Must be willing to travel.

This position may be hired at the Sr. LVN level depending on experience of the selected candidate

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Demonstrated recent experience in a similar role and setting.

  • Must possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certification in Intravenous Therapy issued by the state of California (LVN IV).
  • Phlebotomy certification.
  • Primary Care experience.
  • Ambulatory experience.
  • Point of Care testing experience.
  • Procedure experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work flexible hours which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and some overtime, if necessary, for unexpected staffing issues.
  • Must be able to work various locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $62,640 - $77,862 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.00 - $37.29

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
