Under the general supervision of the Director of Research Administration (DRA) in the Department of Radiological Sciences, the Research Finance Manager provides fiscal and grants management and administrative support to Principal Investigators and department leadership for research investments made by the Department.
This portfolio, currently totaling $20 million annually, is comprised of all Donor funds, Sales and Service activities, Departmentally-funded research projects, Investigator-specific research support, Sales and Service funds, indirect cost recovery funds and other UCLA-funded mechanisms. This role is responsible for the post-award and financial administration of these funds, while assuring University contract / grant requirements, federal, state, county, city and university rules/regulations, and local compliance mandates. Due to the inter-relatedness with the Department's extramurally funded research activities, the candidate should be comfortable with extramural funding mechanisms and their post-award administration. This individual will manage accounts receivables for the sales and service units and the clinical trials unit.Salary: $5,116.67 - $10,116.67/month
Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of education, training and experience - required
* Advanced degree in a business/finance-related field - preferred
* Demonstrated skill with at least 4 years of experience in financial analysis, planning, preparation and administration for a budget with multiple complex funding sources - preferred
* Demonstrated ability to audit expenditures and assure that they conform to policies and guidelines
* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey and obtain information
* Demonstrating skill and expertise in developing, implementing and maintaining effective procedures for contracts and grants management
* Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty and staff
* Keen knowledge of cost accounting standards, the guiding OMB circulars for institutions of higher education, NIH Grants Policy, and federal regulation 45CFR46 on the protections of human subjects participating in research
* Knowledge of University accounting principles, policies and procedures
* Skill in performing complex accounting transactions
