Principal Architect - Control Plane Engineering

What you'll do:

You will be part of Cisco's Security Business Group (SBG), with a focus on next generation network security. Specifically, you will drive innovative solutions leveraging the full strength of the Cisco Security portfolio working across product engineering leads, key support functions, product partners and other cross-functional stakeholders within & outside of Cisco Security.

Reporting to the VP, Next Generation Network Security, you'll work in partnership with Engineering, Product Management, and our diverse senior technical talent community. You will join a team of seasoned leaders of people and technology building creative best in class security solutions. You are recognized as an inspiring technical leader, mentor, and architect. You have a proven track record to influence others, build consensus, engage engineers, and drive towards success technical decisions that support business objectives. You partner well with other teams and enjoy driving the technical direction to achieve successful customer outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on advanced analytics and API Security
  • Accelerate next-gen server hardening and Internet of Things (IOT) security
  • Architect and implement a new distributed control plane to power the next generation of Cisco security products
  • Collaborate on a product roadmap and help define the team's overall strategy.
  • Develop, test and solve the most complicated real world problems.
  • Work closely with a globally distributed team of versatile peers.

Who you are:

  • Expertise in Golang development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Deep experience developing control plane software (e.g. state synchronization across distributed nodes)
  • Dedicated individual, with passion to learn and understand across diverse technologies.
  • Understanding of existing advance network and security analytics, endpoint security, secure coding & architecture.
  • Familiarity with Agile development concepts and version control systems.
  • familiarity with telemetry and profiling tools
