The Factory Service Technician is a challenging role that utilizes developed technical troubleshooting skills, analytical skills, mechanical skills, and customer service skills to enact repairs and maintenance services on customer owned equipment as well as company asset equipment. This role will deliver a positive and impeccable customer service experience through timely and transparent customer communications via email and telephone all throughout the factory workorder process; including providing service estimates, obtaining work authorizations, reporting service activities/findings, and collecting payment for services. This role utilizes established quality-controlled procedures to perform all work activities and requires a keen attention to detail and excellent written/verbal communication to process and document workorders and shop orders in Salesforce and SAP databases.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Perform diagnostic testing, repairs, troubleshooting diagnostics files, performing test and calibration routines on the instruments to which assigned, observing all applicable safety procedures.
  • Communicate with customers and accurately record Salesforce Work Order details.
  • Create customer estimates, collect customer PO's, create invoice orders for billing purposes
  • Accurately account for all inventory transactions associated with the repair process
  • Maintain familiarity with all test and calibration routines required in the service process, as well as procedures for issuing calibration certificates, and perform these routines as needed



Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Maintain and repair test fixtures per controlled procedures
  • Participate as a member in one of the site's safety teams
  • Participate in various project teams as assigned



The ideal candidate will be a service professional with experience operating, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation, medical devices, or laboratory equipment in quality-controlled environments. The ideal candidate enjoys working on mechanical systems, electrical systems, and has basic knowledge of chemistry. The ideal candidate will possess basic customer service skills; be an active listener, an empathic responder, practiced in providing professional and articulate verbal & written communications, have a keen attention to detail, and provide accurate and timely responses. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude and thrives working in both a team environment and as an individual contributor.

Core Qualifications

Required:



  • High School Diploma/GED with at least 3 years' experience with chemical instrumentation, analytical chemistry experience, or related manufacturing experience
  • At least 2 years' experience repairing or working with analytical instruments


Preferred:



  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other science/technical discipline

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to accomplish required work to completion within the required timeframe

  • Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $26 - $34/hr
