What does an Advisory Analyst do for ATG?

Advisory Analysts have a blended responsibility of mastering the current state environment of our clients' quote to cash ecosystems, leading the bottoms-up analysis approach (strategic analyses of both quantitative and qualitative information), and developing meaningful and high-quality deliverables that represent the current state, future state vision and tactical initiatives to operationalize the vision grounded in the business case for our clients. As a member of ATG's Advisory consultant team, the Analyst will work both independently and in collaboration with the ATG consultant team and the client to deliver executive-level strategic consulting services to enterprise business clients throughout the world, operating in a wide variety of industry verticals.

What will your typical day look like?

As an Advisory Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work across a full range of services. That said, if you asked one of our current Analysts about the types of things they have done over the past year or so, they would include things like:



  • Lead the bottoms-up and gap analysis on client engagement teams executing QTC Advisory projects, supporting executive level decision makers in developing strategic roadmaps by:

    • Research and Analysis:

      • Researching the client's financial history, market space, competitors, and mission.
      • Capturing, documenting, and analyzing clients' current state business processes by reviewing data, documentation, and leading interviews and workshops.
      • Assessing the current state's variances, degree of human intervention, risks, efficiencies, and gauging the enterprise's ability to scale.
      • Identifying, analyzing, and advising clients on key metrics to establish a baseline and measure efficacy, adoption, and impact of the proposed initiatives over time.


    • Communication:

      • Applying their understanding of the current state process to build a future state process vision with a view to best-in-class industry practices, opportunities for strategic investment, and tactical initiatives to operationalize the vision.


    • Documentation:

      • Preparing and delivering high quality work to clients (diagrams, presentation materials, reports, schedules, etc.).
      • Prioritizing objectives and supporting project planning and status reporting.
      • Creating and documenting high quality deliverables that depict the goals of strategic initiatives recommended by ATG (current and future state business processes, systems architecture, areas of change, user stories, etc.).
      • Creating clear, concise, and complete functional specifications, user stories & requirements documents using systems specifications and analysis / diagramming tools.




  • Assist in developing the Advisory Group's analysis toolkits.
  • Perform and promote peer-reviews and other quality activities to continuously improve our quality and raise the bar.
  • Actively focus on developing effective communication and relationship-building skills; and
  • Work both independently and in a collaborative team environment


This position may require additional time and effort during periods of heavy workload to meet project milestones and implementation deadlines. Hours and compensation for this position will vary depending on projects and experience.

Key Experience Required for an Advisory Analyst:



  • Experience (minimum of 5 years' experience for senior level) in a process, business, or analyst role in a consulting context.
  • Strong capabilities with common tools-of-the-trade (e.g., Balanced Scorecard, heatmaps, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, waste identification and analysis, RACI matrix, maturity modeling, IT Diagram, Pareto analysis, bar charts, line graphs).
  • Explicit experience-based insights into the role and value of automation - both benefits & limitations - specific to process change.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, MIS, or related field; ideally a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) degree with a business minor or vice versa.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products and diagramming tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, LucidChart, Access, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) with ability to quickly learn applications with similar functionality from other vendors.
  • Flexible & willing to change & adopt evolving methodologies and client needs; to work in Agile, traditional and hybrid project environments.
  • Moderate to Advanced Q2C Domain Expertise
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with varying levels of stakeholders (C-suite level, executive level, mid management level, individual contributor level, etc.).

    • Proven ability to lead and drive client workshops, actively listen, interpret, and respond professionally & concisely


  • Experience in the trenches of digital transformation and software implementation work.
  • A deep understanding of the impacts of implementation projects at an enterprise level
  • The ability to keep the "big picture" in mind and know when and why to dive into the details
  • The ability to be creative, innovative and think critically on the best approach for our clients in terms of:

    • How do we get the most value out of each client session?
    • How do we bring our consulting experience to the table?
    • How do we craft our message in the client's love language?
    • What visuals and deliverables will not only be impactful in delivering our message but will be easily consumable by our client?
    • How do we wrap our experience and what we have learned about the client into meaningful & tactical recommendations presented at the right level?


  • The ability to drive execution of the bottoms-up and gap analysis strategy & approach
  • Capable of consuming vast information and complex concepts and distilling them into salient points and easily digestible material
  • Able to "read the room" and incorporate people and behavioral observations into our analysis

Advisory Analyst Desired Qualifications:



  • Lean Six Sigma Certifications, Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Agile and Project Management Certifications (i.e., CSPO, CSM, PMP), Salesforce Certifications


Location and Travel:



  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%
