ITW Construction provides a variety of fastening systems and truss products for the commercial, residential, and remodeling/renovation segments. With products manufactured at locations around the globe serving markets in North America, Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Australia, the Global Tool Unit (GTU) is a part of ITW's Construction Segment. The GTU innovates, develops, and manufactures through our Customer Back Innovation process best-in-class Power Fastening Systems for the global construction market. Our highly differentiated tools are specified to be used in a variety of applications including wood framing, wood trim, and steel to concrete installations. Tools, and related fasteners, account for a significant portion of total segment revenues

TheAccounting Manager provides timely information to enable manufacturing operations and innovation R&D to meet corporate requirements and guide effective business decisions in order to deliver profitable growth. The primary responsibilities include analysis of actual and plan/outlook results, ensuring compliance with financial policies, inventory analysis, as well as special projects and ad hoc requests. You will also help divisional leadership make informed business decisions from both a strategic and financial perspective as well as have the ability to take significant leadership in major planning cycles (annual plan, long range plan), and maintain strong operational partnership with our assembly operations and R&D new product pipeline. This position reports to the Financial Controller.

The Accounting Manager manages a team of two and, as the local business partner, builds effective relationships to achieve division results, goals, and objectives. The primary responsibilities include monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, analysis of actual and plan/outlook results, ensuring compliance with financial policies, inventory analysis, as well as special projects and ad hoc requests. This position reports to the Financial Controller. ITW Construction is a ~$2.0B segment that provides a variety of fastening systems and truss products for the commercial, residential, and remodeling/renovation segments. The segment includes products manufactured at locations around the globe serving markets in North America, Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Australia. Key brands include: Paslode, Buildex, SPIT, Ramset, Red Head, Alpine, and ITW Brands.

This opportunity would be based in Lake Forest, IL, with the expectation of a mix of virtual and in-person work through 2023.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting and Controls
    • Provides financial support to the operations and innovation teams, including cost trends, cost improvement opportunities, and profitability analysis of products, suppliers, programs and special projects
    • Maintains adequate internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financialsand maintain "Above Average" audit rating
    • Completes/review month end journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, analyze variances, and complete bridge schedules and price/cost analyses
    • Works with cross-functional teams to develop and proactively improve KPIs
    • Enforce governance, control and compliance of company policies and procedures
  • Financial Planning
    • Acts as financial lead for Outlooking process
    • Assist with Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Plan financial modeling
    • Standardize and streamline processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting
    • Partner with capex owners to ensure payback and ROI are accurately predicted and achieved post-project execution
    • Direct and manage Inventory, including a full understanding of the BOM's and Product Costing, along with the Annual Standard Cost update, A/P, Banking Activities, Corporate Credit Cards, Fixed Asset, Payroll, and other administrative activities as assigned.
  • People Leadership and Talent Development
    • Utilize ITW Talent Management process to assess, improve, and manage talent to ensure continuity of financial talent to ensure diverse high performing organization
    • Use personal influence skills rather than positional power to persuade others and gain support.
    • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required.  MBA a plus, CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years accounting or audit experience
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment including cost accounting
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to analyze raw data and apply creative/innovative analysis, and the capability to form key, succinct, and actionable insights and recommendations
  • Attention to detail with a focus on results
  • Self-directed with high orientation to teamwork
  • Ability to prioritize information and "80/20 mindset"
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Navision & PowerBI experience a plus
