Locksmith I (Onsite)

Install, repair, rebuild and service mechanical locking devices located at various entry points on and within campus buildings. Maintain related records. This position will interact on a consistent basis with coworkers, facility forepersons, contractors, and vendors.

Job Duty 1 -

Install/replace locking devices at locations as assigned.

Job Duty 2 -

Assemble/disassemble locks; repair/replace worn parts.

Job Duty 3 -

Cut keys by code or by tracing.

Job Duty 4 -

Store and maintain master keys for campus facilities.

Job Duty 5 -

Requisition of parts and materials as directed.

Job Duty 6 -

Maintain records

Job Duty 7 -

Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

High school diploma, GED Certificate, or Vocational School Diploma

Required Experience

Two to three years of job-related experience

Hourly Range: $15.54-$21.14/hr

Job Grade: C5

Skills

This job requires a working knowledge of lock and access equipment installation and maintenance skills. Related skills in proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment, maintaining stock, and providing customer service are also required, as is the use of specialized computer applications.
