Job Summary Under the general supervision of a pharmacist and in conjunction with clinical staff The Coordinator of Medication Assistance is responsible for providing access to medications for patients by completing prior authorization requests (PAR), co-pay assistance programs, medication assistance programs, benefits investigation, coordinating refill renewal requests, managing PAR and prescription renewal dates, and assisting patients without health insurance to connect with the Enrollment department as applicable. Clinical and technical knowledge is utilized to operate web-based applications, work in Microsoft Word and Excel, and analyze and audit pharmacy usage reports.
Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 1.Extensive knowledge of health care administration, including Medicare, managed care, Medicaid and CHP+ eligibility and enrollment processes
Education * High School Diploma or GED (Required) BS preferred.
Experience
Credentials * PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (Required) Pharmacy Technician Certification with Colorado SBOP, required.
