The Role in Brief:

Staff/GL Accountant

The Staff/GL Accountant will be a part of the Accounting team, reporting to the Accounting Manager with primary responsibilities for month-end close processes and general financial reporting. This role will play a part in ensuring that EAB is in conformity with US GAAP. The right candidate will need to work well under pressure, deal with many different personalities and be an enthusiastic problem solver.

This role is based in Richmond, VA.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Perform month-end closing responsibilities including preparing monthly journal entries for various accounts
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and develop action plans and lead resolution on accounts
  • Assist in preparation of consolidated financial statements
  • Provide support to Financial Planning and Analysis team during monthly preparation of analysis of budget to actual results
  • Interface with external auditors for annual audit
  • Ad-hoc requests and special projects


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Ability to independently manage and prioritize workload with strong attention to detail
  • Must be self-motivated, organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Team player, client service oriented and strong work ethic
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLookups, Sumifs, Pivot Tables, etc.)


Ideal Qualifications:



  • Accounting degree.
  • One to three years of business experience with a focus on accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, or auditing is preferred.
