Job Summary:
The Technical Sales Analyst is responsible for supporting the sale efforts for both commodity and non-commodity solutions at NRG Business.They will become proficient in our product suite and work with the Sales team in evaluating customer relationships and assessing the growth of the Managed Product and non-commodity suite at NRG.They will build relationships by assisting sales in ongoing presales/cross sales opportunities. The Technical Sales Analyst will pro-actively analyze market and NRG trends to identify opportunities for further growth of the total energy management agenda.They will then work across functions to execute projects in order to further growth within the Sales set of offerings.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide pro-active analysis of NRG sales team trends and capabilities in order to develop recommendations for strategic projects to further managed product and sales growth.
  • Primary responsibility for developing tools to support opportunity management and tracking within Technical Sales - enhance existing functionality and develop strategic vision to take reporting to the next level.
  • Act as a go to for Technical Sales by providing internal and external processing guidelines and prioritizing transaction flow
  • Work directly with Sales teams to support the acquisition of new business and cross-selling.
  • Contribute to analysis, development and implementation of new complex commodity and non-commodity product offerings
  • Identify, analyze and report process and system efficiency concerns or solutions to Sales Technology and Sales Innovation team; assist in execution of process and system changes for managed product and NRG offerings.
  • Have a strong understanding of key commercial terms of contracts for each Solutions product and assist with contract preparation and any proposal development
  • Support Technical Sales team to provide market information and training to internal and external contacts including slide presentations
  • Assist with report and strategy development for prospective customers

Working Conditions:

  • Open office environment.
  • Up to 20% travel required

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, mathematics or related field from an accredited college or university OR specific energy market analysis-related experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years related industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of retail energy markets and customer demand side considerations
  • Excellent analytical skills and presentation abilities
  • Proficient with computer spreadsheet and database applications and PowerPoint presentations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent knowledge of NRG Business internal processes, utility rules and requirements and general market knowledge
  • Excellent understanding of sales cycle and CRM system for power, gas, and demand response
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail and deadline orientation
  • Commitment to work with a sense of urgency
  • The ability to work as a team player
  • Be proactive and creative in solving problems
  • Exhibit a positive attitude to inspire the people around you
