Job Description

Purpose:
Lead the tax organization for all US Sandoz entities. Assume responsibility for US tax affairs, particularly for tax related financial planning and profit monitoring, legal entity structure optimization, YE / Quarterly closing, Tax disclosure, compliance & risk management.
Act as a business partner and ensure connectivity with external stakeholder like policy makers and tax authorities.
Major Accountabilities
* Lead all US Tax matters and assume overall responsibility for US tax affairs with focus on tax compliance, transfer pricing and tax reporting.
* Monitor national and international tax environment and ensure compliance with local tax law in alignment with internal stakeholders; advise on
* Maintain and govern a good working relationship with fiscal authorities and other external stakeholders
* Proactive tax risk management for all US Sandoz entities, including management of tax audits and support on MAP, APA as well as operational transfer pricing
* Provide support to Global and US M&A and on strategic business projects and proactively manage all such tax aspects in accordance with Sandoz' global structure, policies and procedures
* Develop the capabilities and foster the teamwork as a well integrated sub-component of the Global Tax team to ensure connectivity as actively engaged experts within the Global Pool of Group Tax Experts.
* Provide US tax planning and financial analysis to support the delivery of Group results (Tax Rate, R&D Credits, Cash Flow, TP Year-End adjustments etc.)
* Act as business partner for all US based functions, incl. review and advise on business development deals, restructuring projects and any other tax relevant business transaction
* Enable transparent knowledge exchange between all US Tax team member and between US and global tax team, respectively

Minimum requirements

What you will bring to the role:
Education:
* Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Related Field
* JD or LLM or CPA or MS in taxation desirable

Experience:
* 7+ years in senior tax positions, such as: Big 4 firm (or equivalent) as a senior manager or partner, law firm
* Corporate tax experience
* Inbound experience a plus
* Experience on M&A transactions is highly desirable

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $166,400 and $249,600/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
