Providence is offering a $15,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external candidates with at least 12 months of hospital acute care experience who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment!

This position is located at St. Mary Medical Center and is a full-time position working 72 hours bi-weekly, on a variable shift.

The Nurse Educator works under the general direction of the Director and Manager of Education. The Nurse Educator assists in the development of patient/staff educational programs and materials. The Nurse Educator serves as a role model, teacher and coach to increase expertise of nurses and other clinical staffs as requested. This position coordinates, implements, and evaluates orientation, in service and continuing education for nurses and other clinical staffs as requested. The Nurse Educator participates in applicable performance improvement and research activities and represents his/her specialty on appropriate committees and task forces.

Required qualifications:



  • Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
  • 3 years acute care nursing


Preferred qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • If BSN not completed upon hire, the educator must be willing to actively pursue this degree within two years
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Education, or allied health field
  • Instructor Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association upon hire
  • 2 years Staff development or academic teaching
